Have you read Lachman's new book on Time? I have not had a chance to look at it yet.
He is completely correct that "meaning" in the world can become very abstract if we are ourselves are not always imbuing it with new life. It is the topic that deserves our most serious attention to and participation with right now. We cannot only consume meaning for ourselves, but also need to radiate meaning out into the world. I think it goes without saying at this point the ways in which we can do that.

Satisfaction must come to us out of what we make of things, out of our own creations. Only that is worthy of free beings.

I got a good chuckle at around 51:15 where Gary starts talking about "active imagination" and says, "If I think too much about it, I'll stop."

Glad I finally found a talk that isn't painful for you No I've not read his new book. I hadn't heard of it until now, so will look into that.

Just realized that GL has done a recent interview with Mishlove related to his book Dreaming Ahead of Time for those interested.

Also, given current events, GL may be in for hitting pay dirt with his 2020 book The Return of Holy Russia, which surely sets the scene for how that 'return' is playing out now. There are a few interviews available on Youtube delving into it.

Marc Chagall, who was born and raised in the Jewish community in Vitebsk, Belarus and later lived in Paris and New York, painted "The White Crucifixion" in 1938 as the Nazii menace spread across Europe. The painting has a permanent home at the Chicago Art Institute where I first saw it as a child. Sadly, it's also symbolizing our present times.

No I've not read his new book. I hadn't heard of it until now, so will look into that.
